Brief History of Close up Magician Phil Jay
Phil Jay became very interested in magic at the age of 7 years old while living in Swansea, South Wales. His father Hubert had been interested and performed magic to Phil for as long as he can remember. As a child, Phil was fascinated with the World of magic and was particularly interested in magic up close, now known as close up magic.
In 1987 after an accident Phil was off work for a period of eighteen months and practised his close up magic for 10 hours a day throughout this time.
He then became a semi professional close up magician in 1989 and within 18 months Phil had fully developed his act and made the decision to become a full time professional close up magician. By 1992 Phil was named as the top close top magician in the UK and has continued developing new magic to perform at his close up magic shows throughout the World. He has lectured on close up magic at the Magic Circle in London and has written books on the subject. He is also a co author of a magic publication (close up success) that has been recognised by many of the World's greatest magicians as one of the best publications on the subject of close up magic and has helped to develop the magic of World recognised close up magicians.
